First Step Showcase

Samantha Y Huang recently graduated from Chelsea College of Art with a BA (hons) in Fine Art. Her practice involves using mediums that hold strong relationships to people’s creative art productions such as books, pencils and acrylic shavings. Exploring the interplay between the artist, artwork and the audience, for this First Step showcase, Samantha has asked the community of Manchester to donate old books which have now been transformed into delicate sculptural works to be experienced on a multi-sensory level as you travel down the stairwell.

Samantha will be back later in the year to return the book covers to their original owners with a specially designed artist stamp mark added to them.
