200 Voices - call for artists (visiting arts)
200 Voices will profile, spread and showcase some of the world’s most exciting artists online throughout 2012. Launching on January 1, submissions will be streamed throughout the year. On your more detailed online profile, we will upload information regarding your specific art practice, artistic portfolio and details of any upcoming exhibitions.
We are asking for submissions of an image, short film, piece of music or text which reflects on your local experience as a practising artist in your country. What is it like to be an artist working in your country? How do your local surroundings and context influence your work and your practice? Is there anything you would like to say to other artists across the world about your situation? Your submission could even be a photograph of your studio or the view from your studio window.
In 2012 the eyes of the world are on London and the UK for the world’s biggest sporting event, the London 2012 Olympics. We want to reflect this global occasion back to those people looking into the UK. We want to give artists from all over the world the opportunity to tell the world what it’s like to live and work in their country in the 21st century. To inspire and be inspired.

FULL RABBIT
The forthcoming exhibition will take place on February 24th to March 18th and marks the end of the year of the rabbit. 'Full Rabbit' presents solo and collaborative works based on ideas of fortune from UK and China based artists. This exhibition brings the 'Half Rabbit' show from Platform China Institute of Contemporary Art, Beijing, to London to showcase the collaborations completed in Beijing and new related works since then. These works have never before been shown in the UK. Involved in the exhibition are high profile names, together with younger rising stars.
ARTISTS BRIEF
We are looking for works that explore fortune, (position in future life as determined by chance, luck, or wealth). This could be according to a personal perception, or a public driven expectation. We would like to see new or existing work that has not been exhibited before. Work can be in any medium, but a preference will be given to pure visual works or visual works with low sound.
APPLICATION DEADLINE
We will accept applications up-to and including the 6th January 2012. (Earlier applications can be accepted following consultation with us).
