Residencies

Our next Whisper artist-in-residence will be here from 4 – 18 May 2009 and will have her open studio on 14 May. Li E Chen will use the 360 hours of her residency as an opportunity to rehearse and perform. She will explore and challenge how complexity can arise out of the interplay simple series by using numerical series, binary codes and ‘class signs’. Jessica Tsang, TOWERBLOCK, 2009. Enamel paint, wood, silicone.Jessica Tsang will be our next Breathe artist-in-residence staying at Chinese Arts Centre for 3 months from 21 May 2009. Moving between materials, Jessica Tsang has made works that combine sculptural forms and the painted surface. The Breathe residency will be an opportunity for her to shift her practice and incorporate a more research-based approach. It will allow her to create works that arise out of a body of research as opposed to arising out of material exploration.

First Step Showcase

Andrew Lim will be showing work on the stairwell of Chinese Arts Centre from 6 May – 9 September 2009. Click here for more information >>
