With the new academic year brings here at Chinese Arts Centre a text pattern wrapped around the Centre, brand new shop/tea house/resource area, a couple of Whispers and a big ticket giveaway.

Tsang Kin-Wah and Chinese Arts Centre sharing the love

iloveu_detail_small.jpgThere are those of us here who are lucky enough to experience Tsang Kin-Wah’s beautiful text installation I Love U every time we visit the loo at work, and it never fails to amuse, cause food for thought and raise a smile. Now, Tsang and Chinese Arts Centre want to share the love. Taking this stunning work out of the interior space, we have commissioned Tsang to create a special adaptation of the pattern to cover the outside of the building. The delicate floral motif made up of cheeky phrases in English and Chinese wraps around the large windows that form the outside of the Centre, transforming the building into a bold new art work to be viewed from the street. Pass us by and check out Tsang Kin-Wah’s latest installation.

This month is your last chance to catch What are you looking at? – Tsang Kin-Wah’s first UK solo exhibition at Chinese Arts Centre until 28 September.

Chinese Arts Centre’s new shop and tea house!

Don’t forget to pop in, especially because we have a brand new shop, tea house and resource area to enjoy. We have a whole host of exciting new artist designed ranges including jewellery, leather goods and unique gifts as well as specially imported teas and designer glass tea ware. In amongst the design items is our new resource area where you can relax and browse books, videos and other materials selected by the artists and curators which support the artistic programme at the Centre.

Be sure to take advantage of our special offer of free cup of Chinese tea of your choice when you spend £5 in the shop.
