For Sin Yi Law, food of all cultures is art in itself. Her delicate crayon drawings work to express the pleasure in the anticipation and enjoyment of food. Each mark is an attempt to draw up a sense of taste and excitement. The food items are set against a pure white background to emphasise their physical form and bring the viewer a new perspective. For the First Step exhibition at Chinese Arts Centre, Sin Yi presents a series of simply presented new drawings and projection which celebrate the pleasure derived from food.
Sin Yi Law is an artist from Hong Kong. She recently completed a BA Fine Art at University of Huddersfield.
