Out of nowhere is an exhibition of new work, which continues Conroy/Sanderson’s exploration of displacement and ‘the foreign’, through imaginative and evocative use of portraiture. Hong Kong born Chinese artist Leung Po-shan Anthony is a cross-boundary practitioner who plays with images, texts and the body in theater, performance, installation and writings. Her seemingly cruel or even masochistic acts invite the viewer into a play of desire, which then transcends the merely subject-object relation into an introversive dialogue.
