Raymond Yap’s works speak of the mark of national identity and the desire to migrate. Passport stamps evoke a high speed world of commerce, technology and migration, melting issues of cultural identity with thoughts of painting. The patterns can be abstract or read as signifiers of scientific imagery or retain their literal meanings of the printed signs in passports.
