October 11th – 14thManchester city centreUrban Screens Manchester is a dynamic four-day programme of live art on the streets of Manchester city centre. Three giant screens (Exchange Square, Cathedral Gardens and All Saints’ Gardens, Oxford Road) will show the work of over 80 international artists, exhibiting the possibilities of mobile projection, live streaming to video, VJ work and interactive art.8GG are the husband and wife team of Jiang Haiqing and Fu Yu and are at the forefront of China’s emerging multi-media and audio-visual art scene. At Urban Screens Manchester they use digital techniques to interact with their surroundings to create new images and sounds and a unique live performance. Catch their piece ‘the air been broken’ on the screen at Cathedral Gardens, Saturday 13th October at midday.Urban Screens Manchester is a free event and runs in conjunction with the Urban Screens Manchester conference at the Cornerhouse, October 11th and 12th.
